Can I paste a YouTube URL?

No. Upload the original video file from your device in MP4, MOV, M4V, or WebM format. A YouTube account connection is optional and is used for approved publishing, not to import source videos.

How long can my source video be?

A source can be up to 60 minutes long and 2 GiB in size. The current beta account allowance is 60 source minutes, with one active generation at a time. A generation creates up to 20 clips rather than splitting the entire episode into equal pieces.

Can I change the selected moments or captions?

Ask for a new version with feedback if a clip misses your intended point. You can also edit the clip title and description. Each clip has a three-render revision allowance. The manual editor lets you trim sections, extend each edge by up to ten seconds where source footage permits, and correct subtitle words.

Are exports watermarked?

The current renderer does not add a YouTube Optimizer watermark. Branding already present in your source footage is not removed. Review your finished clip before downloading.

What format do I download?

Download a captioned portrait MP4 at 1080 × 1920. Captions are rendered into the video. Save your exports before the 30-day media retention period expires.

Are Shorts published automatically?

Generation alone does not publish anything. You can download and manually upload your clips to YouTube. If you connect a channel, you must explicitly approve a clip before its upload is queued.
